Why Simplify Mortgage exists
Thank you for considering Simplify Mortgage for your purchase or refinance. I founded the company with a straightforward goal: provide mortgages that are easier and cost less.
Getting a mortgage doesn't have to be that hard, but some companies won't give up their complicated, outdated processes, so their clients suffer through "the way we've always done it." No one can control every part of home financing, but I simplify everything I can and reduce your costs at the same time.
- Simplify Mortgage charges no processing, application, underwriting, administrative, or origination fees. The only Section A charge is discount points, which are optional for a lower rate (or required on rare loans that have no zero-point rate).
- I compare more than 85 wholesale lenders. After 25 years, I know which handful consistently win on rate and service, and which ones to avoid.
- You work with me directly, from the first question to closing day.

I grew up in northern Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin (Go Badgers!). I'm thankful for the Midwestern outlook on life that my upbringing gave me.
After college I spent two years as a real estate agent in Manhattan. That was an eye-opening experience for a young guy from the Midwest. I loved New York, but I soon wanted a different way of life.
In 2001 I moved to Chicago and began my mortgage career. Two years later I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, one of those life decisions you don't fully appreciate at the time. I met my wife there and made lifelong connections. In 2023 we began splitting our time between Scottsdale and Lake Oswego, Oregon, which gives us the best of both worlds when the sun or the rain gets to be a little too much.
In our free time we like quick weekend adventures, traveling abroad, and hosting friends and family (I'm the chef in the family), plus visiting my family in Telluride, Colorado.
